It took me almost a year... last year in May was my last post...
but after recovering from problems with the internet I can upload my pictures fast again (it used to take me 10 minutes to upload one picture...)
The question today is: WOYWW today?
Well, these are fabrics for something for a little girl, so of course it is PINK! and a pattern for a ´thumb-hat´, a kind of small hat to protect/prevent/distract from thumb sucking. I was asked to make some.
On the quilting stand is my very first quilt...I started this quilt 23 years ago! But unexperienced as I was I used partly too thick and sturdy fabric and also the basting is too thick. This way quilting is not the easiest part, so the quilt was tucked away for many years!
Time to finish!!
Ivy zegt: tot volgende week bij WOYWW! (en nu graag een hondensnoep!)
Ivy says: see you next week on WOYWW! (and now give me some biscuits!)
I've never heard of thumb hats before! I love the colours in your quilt and it looks beautifully done, especially as it was your first. Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #2
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLisa-Jane I had never heard of it before the request came! Thanks!
VerwijderenLovely to see the text in translation! Your quilt is stunning and like you I have one I began when my son was young - he's 28 now and it still needs the quilting on the border and the binding left to do. Might just wait till he has a kid snd skip a generation. Think I can get away with it?
BeantwoordenVerwijderen:)
Happy WOYWW to all!

I think you would get away with it Mary Anne :)
VerwijderenHi Fransisca. Good to see you today. I love the first picture!! One step at a time - the only way to take life at the moment. It does rather feel like one step forward and three back currently... Your quilt is stunning - I am sure you will get there - well done. Thumb hats?? Not ever come across those before - I think I simply allowed my girls to suck their thumbs if they wanted to.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenTake care. God bless.

Hello! Your dog is so beautiful! The quilt is too and I’m sure it’ll be finished soon. I have a double wedding ring quilt that I started for my hubby and I around 15 years ago and then I put it aside and never finished. I’ll have to look for it. Have a great week. Dorlene #31
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHello Ivy, your dog is beautiful. I love your quilt, it is amazing. A friend of mine has a lovely handmade quilt and the last time they stayed with us in the caravan one of my dogs chewed a patch! I was mortified, but the lady who made it was able to repair it as good as new. I have not heard of a thumb hat, but I look forward to seeing it. Angela #17
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSo good to see you again Francisca. Good luck finishing the quilt. Woof to Ivy, stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #10
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI love seeing other people's quilts - it's not something I've ever done other than one little cushion cover that I never even finished.
